Nutrition IS NOT a one size fits all approach. Nutrition IS NOT the plan that you get given in an 8 week challenge. I believe in a holistic approach to nutrition that does not involve
restriction of foods. Food is to be enjoyed and should never be demonised. Food is FUEL, for our daily lives, our training and our overall health and wellbeing.
Arguably, nailing the training and exercise component for health and performance is the easy part. We all know that showing up and getting it done is half the battle. The confusion lies within what to eat for training, how to eat to recover from training and how this impacts overall health and performance.
There are many approaches that can be taken with regards to nutrition, sometimes this is as simple as advising food swaps or helping set macros for those more advanced or even highly specific meal plans complete with different recipes. Though often it's about educating individuals on how to create a nutritious and balanced meal. Wherever you're at in your nutrition journey and understanding of food, there is always a starting point for you.
My approach to individualised nutrition for my clients is comprehensive. I like to find out where your nutritional literacy stands before you come in so that I know exactly what level to start you at. From the moment you book your initial consult, you will receive an online form to fill in prior to your consultation that provides me with your health history, understanding of nutrition, goals you have for your nutrition and overall health as well as the types of exercise you enjoy. From this, I plan your initial consultation where we will delve into how you currently eat so that I have a bigger picture of how your days and weeks look. We then work on a plan that suits you and your lifestyle that helps you start achieving your goals.
